1st bday shirt- very hungry caterpillar.

i want to make B his birthday shirt to go with his very hungry caterpillar theme.  I was thinking of using this stencil https://www.stencilry.org/stencils/animals/bugs/caterpillar.gif   for the caterpillar, but want to have a 1 on there too. Do you think I could have it crawling up a 1 and it would look ok?  Also, would it look ok if i did each circle a different color to go with the dots in the beautiful watercolors in the book, or should I stick with something more like the actual caterpillar from the book? like this one: https://images.scholastic.co.uk/assets/a/66/cb/vhc-act-col-252740.jpg

I'd stick with something more like whats in the picture - but maybe you could write "I'm one" or "I'm 1" or something like that in the dots??

This one is cute.  I would want some color on the catepillar though so maybe a solid 1 and a colored bug?  Or just do the catepillar from the book and then a 1 on the back like a jersey?

Sorry, I didn't feel like coloring in the caterpillar.  lol :P

That's so cute!  Where did you get that one from????

I was just calling around to see if I could get some of that fabric, but the only place near me is no longer open

When is the party?  I have 6 yards of this fabric that I used as a table cloth.  I can cut you off a panel and mail it to you today.

We are doing the sane theme for David and Julia's party. ( David is turning 1 and Julia 2) let me know if you find or make a shirt, I am not crafty at all but I have been looking in etsy and found some cute ones.

Thanks for your help ladies... I've decided that I'm going to paint a 1 with the polka dots and the caterpillar going across the 1.  I think I can do that.  We'll see, maybe I'll be making a few shirts as a test   I'm already going to make frosting as a test...
