I had my A/S on Friday. The doctor's office called today to let me know everything looks good with baby girl, but that I have a low lying placenta. It's not at the point of placenta previa, but they'll be scheduling me for another u/s at 28 weeks to see if it moves up. The doctor seems optimistic that it will move on its own and told me not to worry.
Is anyone else experiencing this or has experienced it w/ previous pregnancies? Did it resolve itself? If so, what kind of restrictions were you given? The doc only gave me a few restrictions (no intercourse, no pelvic exams, watch for bleeding/spotting), but I want to make sure I'm being safe and doing everything I can do.
Re: Low lying placenta
Yup! At my A/S at 18w6d I had a low lying placenta. When I went back in 3 weeks later it had totally resolved itself. The doctor said that as the uterus continues to grow and expand the placenta will tend to shift and doesn't take up as much space.
I personally was not put on any restrictions but they did warn me if I had spotting to come in right away.
