Confession - I WANT TO SPEND!

I really just want a pile of money so I can spend it.  Yup - I'm just putting it out there.  I want to be materialistic.  I want to try another wrap or two, and a ring sling (although I have a very generous offer to try a certain EFFer's, which I am greatly looking forward to), and I want to get the boys a few cute things to wear and I'd like a few new shirts that I feel cute and confident in.

So, if anyone has a windfall they want to send my way, my pp addy is: ivegotthegimmes@mooch.com

So - how do you deal with sudden attacks of gimme-itis?

Re: Confession - I WANT TO SPEND!

  • I dealt with it by buying me 2 pairs of shorts and 2 shirts.  :P

But I got money for mothers day :)

  • I can't help.  I've got the gimmies right now too... but we just spent a chunk on some new pieces of furniture so... I'm trying to be practical and just plan the expensive vacation we're taking this summer to occupy my time. :-D

I have it too. I want to go shopping, buy new post baby clothes (to fit my new post baby body), I want to buy new shoes, get my hair done, a new handbag. I want new furniture.

We live a very simple life.  We live in one of those old homes with the tiny closets and MH and I fit both our clothes in one tiny closet and share one small dresser.   I haven't bought new furniture since I graduated college, and we need a new couch and mattress desperately.  We buy almost everything second hand to be more EF.

     But I covet.

I don't do anything about it.  I remember why we aren't buying new furniture right now (4 pets and a baby).

I remind myself that buying new clothes 5 weeks pp would be a waste of money because my body is not done changing.

I am going to get my hair done though.  I have been hoarding a gift certificate  for 9 months.

I stay out of stores, I don't window shop online.

    But still...

I feel the same way, but DH did bring me to GAP Saturday to buy a new pair of pants.  I am happy with my one pair because I feel better about me in my new pants, but I can totally relate to just wanting to buy a new wardrobe of clothes that fit (and maybe don't show leaky breast spots as much or breast pads...I am now wishing I owned more black tops!)

  • I have to admit that once I get like this I give in just a little bit and treat myself to some on sale goodies within our budget.  Even spending $30 on some new clothes makes me feel better.
