I've been wondering if this is part of our problem. My RE told me yesterday he doesn't think DH's low count/morphology is the issue and he's not really sure what the issue IS since I've had my lap and they removed most of my endo and the polyps and fibroids. He said I've only had one IUI since my lap so we'll see how it goes. Oh and when I got home yesterday, DH admitted he had some "collection issues" - he said he lost about 1/2 of it - which is probably why the count was so much lower than last time . I know I'm not a guy, but really, is it too much to ask that you get it all in the cup? That's the ONLY thing you have to do!
I was Dx with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2002 and started treatment for it. Initially I was on hydroxychloroquine and then they switched me to methotrexate. I had more blood work done in 2005 and my Rheumatologist said my ANA count was back to normal and I seemed to be in remission. I haven't been treated for it since and they changed my Dx to osteoarthritis. I manage my joint pain now with Aleve/Ibuprofen (which I of course don't take when I'm cycling).
I know it sounds silly but I can't help but picture my body attacking and killing off all of DH's sperm or preventing the implantation of an embryo because it sees it as a foreign body .

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

I am getting testind done through Dr. B (the doctor whose links theworms provided) right now. MH and I have been wondering the same thing as you. I was previously diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis but that Dx was changed a few years ago to ankylosing spondylitis. I used to test positive (even highly positive) for ANAs but I have not for a few years now although I am not in remission from my autoimmune disease either. Also, endo can be an indicator of autoimmune issues.
I have only done IVF and I don't have many eggs retrieved given my DOR Dx. But, I make pretty looking day 5 blasts. I just don't get any implantation. My RE doesn't really have an explanation. But, I am on quite a few treatments for my arthritis and I was worried that they were contributing or that my immune issues weren't being properly treated for IVF. So, I decided to take the plunge with an RI and see what he sees.
Good luck!

Me= 37 and DH = 41
Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132. Lil is here!
TTC#2: Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.
IVF #4: BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #5: MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #6: (New RE): Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN
FET#1: BFN
I was diagnosed with polymyositis, which is an autoimmune disease. Both my rheumatologist and my RE concurred that autoimmune diseases can negatively impact egg quality. Which is what the major issue was for us (we are also MFI). I was in remission for a couple years prior to TTC and it really wasn't raised as a concern until my terrible response to IVF and my RE working with my rhuematologist on my case.
Did you do anything differently for the cycle that finally worked?

I knew I should have specified how I got pg. We actually used DE. However, and this is a big however, my last cycle with my own eggs I took DHEA for 3 months (prescribed by my RE) and we used the microdose lupron protocol. It was by far my best cycle in terms of eggs and fert rate. It ended in a chemical pregnancy and we didn't have any frozens.
The main reason we moved onto DE was because our insurance ran out and neither of us could stomach spending that much money for another IVF cycle knowing we'd already had 3 failed IVF cycles. Our odds were much better with DE and seemed like a better investment. So, unfortunately, we let finances make our decisions, but honestly, I'm pregnant with twins and haven't looked back. I'm at peace with our decision and never think about the donor.
If you think your egg quality maybe an issue, I would highly recommend trying DHEA for a couple months and talk to your RE about a more aggressiv protocol.
Sorry, that was really long-winded
