Potentially Rhyming Sibset- Charlie & Mari

When I was pregnant with DC1 we were team green. We had chosen Charles (Charlie) for a boy and a family name Mariko (mah-ree-ko) for a girl with the nn Mari.

We had our little Charlie and couldn't be happier.  

We are now expecting #2 and we have been discussing names.  I still love our girl choice and the family connection that it has, but worry about the sibset of Charlie and Mari.  While they don't exactly rhyme they give off a similar sound.  My husband thinks that I am overthinking it because I am a Lauren and my brother is Aaron and we had a similar almost rhyme.  What do you think of siblings that almost rhyme?

I don't think they rhyme at all. They both just happen to end in the long E sound, which millions of names do. I agree with your husband.

I'm more concerned with them being completely different styles and poor Charlie thinking he got a "boring" name when he's older.

If you like it, you should use it. Anything formal would probably read Charles and Mariko anyway... so not a big deal IMO.

Charlie and Marli would be  funny but not horrible.  Charlie and Mari is totally fine.
