EF teething toy - Sophie the Giraffe

does anyone have one of these teethers?  They're so cute and I vaguely remember having one just like it as a child - interestingly enough it says they've been around 40 years so maybe I did??

(sorry I don't remember how to make a link clicky - if anyone could enlighten me I'd appreciate it :)

Anyways, I finally found a CDing store in my area (yippee) and they carry these and said they have a tough time keeping them in stock.

Re: EF teething toy - Sophie the Giraffe

  • I've heard RAVE reviews about them - I wanted to buy one, but I didn't want to pay high shipping and I almost died when I saw one in Nashville - I grabbed it.  That was probably 4 months ago, and DD still loves it. Its a really nice toy, and she loves chewing on the antlers and the legs of the giraffe.  Its held up really well, and its so cute.  My only "issue" with it is its so expensive, so I'm very protective of our little giraffe!

  • I have heard so many wonderful things so I have one for my DC...can't wait to use it!  I know some other moms on this board rave about it...
  • I have been wanting to get one, but every time I order from a store, they are sold out.

  • oh good, I'm going to put it on my wishlist for the new baby (agree though, that IS expensive for a rubber toy!!).  I tried searching to see if it had been discussed already but we all know how well the search function works, grrr.
  • they are soooo adorable!  i saw them for sale when i was at the cottonbabies store.  i really wanted to get one, but couldn't bring myself to drop down $20 on top of what i was paying for CD's.

  • I also think they're super cute but I read on some website (maybe safemama or something) about a lady who said her daughter put the head of the giraffe in  her mouth and chomped down which caused the head to swell up and begin to choke her. Now, I have NO idea if that's actually true, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone has ever heard of this??
  • ?

    I'veheard that they are great.?

Wewere at a party recently and there was a pile of toys there for the kids. ALLof the babies and toddlers immediately reached for the Sophie and ignored allof the other brightly colored plastic things that it was with.

We gotone for our shower from friends who swear by it, I'm super exited!

  • We got ours at 4 months and DS looooves it! ?Also, any time we are at a friend's house and Sophie is poking out of my bag, a dog tends to think it's their toy and they pick it up. ?It's happened quite a few times but it does kind of look like a squeaky dog toy :)

  • We have one and DD completely loves it. TinyBirdsOrganics.com pretty much always has them in stock.

I like that it's natural rubber with the latex protein removed.

  • I had never heard of Sophie until this weekend when DD received one as a gift!  It is cute... and she loves the squeaking!  I had no idea it was so expensive though!
