My 9mos old DD and I are going to be in Charlotte next week while my husband has some business meetings. Wondering if any of the locals moms have favorite walking routes (possibly around residental neighborhoods where you could park and stroll) or playgrounds near Myers Park and/or SouthPark?
Thanks!
Re: Charlotte walks/parks/playgrounds?
You could head over to Freedom Park and walk around the pond or on the nature trails, and they have baby swings. There's also a greenway from there that goes like all the way into the city now I think.
You won't be too far from Latta Park either - it's nice and shady & I like walking around there on the paths, and there are baby swings there too. That's a nice neighborhood to walk around as well if you're feeling more like walking neighborhood streets.
You should be able to find both via google maps or a GPS.
Have fun!
I don't have a good website, but Freedom Park has some good walking trails, a little lake, playground. Good for strolling.
Near there, Queens Road has a lot of big houses with big old trees and looks like a nice place to walk.
I haven't been, but Latta Park is another park.
Have fun!
Freedom park
Latta Park has a great spray park and a playground. There is also a path you can walk on.
Park Road Park (super close to Southpark mall) Some walking areas, lake.
If it rains, Discovery Place in uptown has a great museum area for small kids. the water table is very cool, but may require a spare change of clothes (they have seats for babies not yet standing/walking) and also a soft play area for younger babies. There is an aquarium too.
