Even though technically Liana should be the second pronunciation I think that because most are familiar with the name Leanna they'll pronounce it that way first. I probably would. I think the only way to get around it is to spell it Leona so the O denotes the long a/o sound.

The 3 people I know with the name pronounce it Lee-ON-ah. And the one girl I know who pronounces it Lee-ANNE-ah actually spells it Leanna. I pick b for both.

I've always liked the name Alaina, so I voted for that one. I think Maya is pretty too. Liana is okay.
Just FYI (and it might not matter to you), I don't like Aviva because it's the name of a brand of diabetes test strips.
Yeah I know about the diabetes strips and it's also the name of an insurance company. But Aviva is actually a Hebrew name and means Spring or springtime (and I was born in Tel Aviv).
Thanks everyone! Maya and Liana are my 2 current front-runners.
I'm glad to know that most people pronounce Maya as My-ah or My-uh.
The majority of you would pronounce Liana the way I want (Lee-on-ah)...but the other pronunciation isn't as uncommon as I'd hoped. I guess it's because it's not as common of a name (# 526 on 2010 SSA list)...whereas Maya has been in the top 100 for the past 10 years (#67 in 2010).
