  • so is it strange that my DH still gives me butterflies?  It's been just over 8 years together...and I still perk up at the sight of his name on my caller ID, my heart races when I hear his truck driving up home and I've never turned down a chance to just hang out with him, either a date or just watching him work at the shop or in the garage...He's my "new man" every single day...I'm just lucky!

  • FWIW, I don't think any of us who agree with this article (MYSELF INCLUDED) are saying we're not lucky.

    Also ...

A date with my husband provides no fodder for conversation with my girlfriends, other than how desperately we need a girls? night out.

    YES x1,000.

  • That was awesome!  Sam and I were both laughing at that one.

I like the "are we having 60 dollars worth of fun?" part.

  • It is hilarious, and so true...

Fear not Newlyweds...(for humor's sake) it neglects to mention all the benefits of a date with your husband. I for one HATING DATING. I prefer "dating" now so much more. When we go out we pick things we know we will both enjoy, we are on the same team of "yay for us, we're getting out"...compliments mean more, it feels sweeter.  I still get butterflies sometimes too. I actually caught myself checking out his ass at the office last week. He must have been wearing new pants b/c I didn't realize it was him until a second later, LOL. And let's face it,  you will never love a man as much as when he's being a Daddy!

This! Well except the Daddy part of course. I'm very excited to see that. Great article!

After being together 10 years (3 married) I am the same. :-)  I guess we are lucky!

while Brian can still give me butterflies and I feel incredibly lucky to have such a funny, loving man in my life. It is just not the same to date him now as it was when we first met over 10 years ago. When he had his place and I had mine. When we could talk on the phone for hours and sometimes it would lead to late night rondevous. I know him now in a way that I didnt back then, the discovery of someone is exciting and leaves you craving more. I have kissed him thousands of times and while it stil makes me feel hot and passion, its comfortable and the first kiss sparkle is gone, replaced with something more intiment.

I dont think anyone is saying they are unlucky or they dont feel love and passion anymore, just that things have changed, but not for the worst, just different.
