AW: Baby Shower & 32w belly pic

Hi ladies! I attended my baby shower today. Here's a 32w belly pic and the dress I wore to the shower:

We had breakfast type foods - eggs benedict, egg bake, fruit kabobs, pastries & punch. My SIL took an idea I had at her baby shower last summer and had little plastic babies frozen in a small cup for everyone. When the baby melted free, you had to yell "my water broke!" (I did not play for obvious reasons...) I felt more comfortable standing while opening all my gifts. With carrying so high, it gets uncomfortable sitting, much less bending over to open gifts. My back was pretty sore by the time I was done and I was exhausted. It was a lot of work! Since my DH is up north fishing with his dad (it's the fishing opening weekend in WI), his best friend stopped by and loaded up my car and his and followed me home to help unload.

I received two very cute and creatively made diaper cakes. Here is one. Love them!!

My favorite gifts were the homemade ones of course. My DH's grandma outdid herself by making a matching quilt, heart shaped pillow & teddy bear. She also made a gorgeous knit blanket as well as a matching sweater, hat & booties set. DH's aunt started crocheting hats recently and made a hat for every season of the year.

I received sooooo many clothes, I can't imagine she will wear everything. Way too many 0-3 month outfits, I might try to take some back if there are gift receipts. There are still several bigger ticket items we will need like our crib, mattress, stroller, another car seat, diaper bag & monitor.

I'm glad the shower was held when I'm 32 weeks. I feel comfortable for the most part, plus we have 2 months to purchase the rest of the things we need - it's nice to be able to spread some of that stuff out over a few paychecks.

Love the dress...you look adorable with your high, perky bump.  

And it's wonderful that you got so many handmade gifts.  I love those, too.    (Now if only I could get my hiney in gear to make some for our own LO...)
