I'm sorry but I'm not going to panic about a safety recall when the reasoning is:
"The CPSC says numerous children ? believed to be about a dozen ? have been injured."
Really? Cause a dozen kids can get injured doing just about anything. And who says the parents even attached it right? Not that I plan on getting one of these or am defending them for any particular reason, it just seems like a really silly reason to panic over a kids item. And the whole amputation hazard thing? Really?
Yeah, I agree just thought I'd post it for those interested. Both of my SIL's used these at my house but I'm not planning on using it. Not based on this article, just because I have a kitchen table with a pedestal base opposed to 4 legs and it tends to make my table sag a bit.

When I first saw this type of high chair I thought it screamed safety hazard. I'd much rather trust something strapped to a chair (like the FP space saver) or something with four legs firmly on the floor. I also avoided them because I can't imagine the clamps are very nice to the finish on a wooden table.....

Good to know, but I'm with pp.
I feel like half these baby recalls are due to stupidity/lack of common sense.
Use items the right way and WATCH your kids.
