PIP your drip proof sippy cup

I have 7 different kinds of sippy cups and ALL leak.  The babies will take a sip and then throw them on the floor, the milk then drips out of the spout (yes, even with a valve).  I've spent a small fortune trying to find a sippy cup that doesn't have this issue.  Any suggestions?  I'm so tired of cleaning up milk from the floor.

I kinda doubt a truly drip-proof cup exists, but I was always happy with the Gerber and Playtex ones. Both worked great (but we used the Gerber more.) I mean, they only ever got sippies at mealtimes, and we ended up tethering them to their high chairs so they couldn't throw them on the floor, so maybe that's an idea?

  • We have some of the Playtex Sipster Spout Cups that seem to work the best.  They N.E.V.E.R. leak (they do have a removable valve...I always use it because my son will take a drink and toss it on the floor!)

  • I really like the relatively cheap Playtex cups that you can buy at Walmart (and probably every other store with baby supplies).  You know... bright colors, random pictures of animals and cars on them, valves, 2 for $5.  They don't leak for me, and they can be thrown across a room without any damage or the lid coming loose.

With the cups you have, are you maybe over-tightening them?  Just about any sippy will leak if they're too tight.  The pressure builds up, especially if your kids suck on the air with the cup not tilted far enough, or take long drinks without stopping to let the cup vent, and it has to come out somehow.  Try tightening the lid all the way, and then loosening it just a tiny bit before letting them drink from it.

  • We have the Playtex cups.  They work the best out of what we have but still leak some.  I'll try loosening the lid a bit.
  • Since you said PIP....I LOVE these! We have 8 of them haha
