I'm confused. Don't they need something to compare my first one to? My first beta was 2,460 at 4 weeks 5 days. Is that ok enough not for me to come back for another round of bw? hmmm, not that I'm questioning my doctor [ok, I am] she is a specialist... I'm just confused.

What was your first beta? When was it taken?

See siggy. I'd think they'd send you for another to check for doubling?
ETA: with numbers at that level, maybe they just plan to have you come in for an early u/s soon?

My doctor only had me get my level drawn once, and then based on the number he had me come in for a u/s.  Good luck!!  If it concerns you a lot, you could always ask to get another draw to check for doubling.

Thats a pretty good number, even if they don't check it again, I'd be thrilled

Ditto PP's - they only did one draw and based everything else on the u/s. If things are going as planned in there then there's not really a need to keep drawing blood. At least that's what my ob/gyn has told me...

They're not sending me for another draw, either, and I think I'll be about 7 weeks at my u/s. This is with my RE. I am thinking of calling my family doctor to ask her for a draw.

Ok, thanks ladies! You put my mind at ease. I did have a sono yesterday [bw was tues] to place the sac ~ it was where it was supposed to be. We couldn't see a baby yet but it was way early. The issue with me is placement since I had an ectopic preg. I guess i shouldn't second guess my doc - she is pretty amazing.

I was told that my doctor only checks my Beta's until they reach 2500 and after that point he no longer orders lab draws.  However, with that said I had a spotting spell on Tuesday so now he has ordered Beta's to be done today just to make sure all is going in the right direction.

I kinda thought they would continue to check Beta's at least through the 1st tri but I was told not after 2500.

I would think you would want more than one HCG Beta so you have something to compare it to but . . . I don't know.  That's a good number for 4 weeks.

My beta #'s are in my siggy.  My 1st though was 214.56
