How do you put LO down for a nap? Since she was born I would hold her until she is asleep and then attempt to put her down somewhere to sleep, where on her tummy on couch (watching closely - she naps best this way) or in the swing if lucky. I want to get her into the crib for naps so eventually I can ditch this RnP at night and just use our crib... I don't want to swaddle for naps saving that for night time only but want her to start sleeping in the crib. I also want to have her start to put her self to sleep, not a hardcore sleep train obv no CIO just getting her in there when drowsy rather than asleep - tips? hope its not too late for this!

Re: putting down for naps
It's not too late. DD didn't sleep well and in her crib until about 10-11 weeks old. We did swaddle for all naps and bedtime for her until 6 months, and we currently swaddle DS for all naps and bedtime. I figure, why teach two ways to sleep (swaddled vs unswaddled)? There are other ways to differentiate night vs day.
For us, a good swaddle (see siggy link for technique) and an eye on the clock (see siggy for awake time guidelines based on age), and sometimes a paci = great naps, with no CIO.
Ahh. Do what works for you, but I promise it's NOT too much swaddling if you swaddle for naps as well.
I rock DS to sleep and put him in the PnP or the swing for naps. I just started to put him in the crib but he wakes up after 15 minutes. Hopefully by the time he is 3 months old I can transfer him to the crib 100%.
We don't swaddle for naps or bedtime. He screams every time we try.
I started to put down DD drowsy but awake around 4 months old. This way I knew she was old enough to self sooth.
