**JennV514**

Hey! I saw that you're a SAHW too. I keep pretty busy most of the time but I know what you mean about getting bored. MH and I live in Chicago but he works 3 weeks out of the month is SF (Mon-Thurs) so it tends to get a bit harder when he's gone. (Also, our families live 5 hours way so that's tough too lol) Do you at least have family around?

Anyways, I wanted to ask you about your cleaning schedule. Do you have a set schedule? Any tips or set days you do things? Just looking for a few pointers since I need help in that dept lol. Thanks!

Also, just wanted to say hi from one SAHW to another. Big Smile

  • Hiya! Oh wow- that must be hard to be alone for that amount of time! What does your husband do, if you don't mind me asking? My husband is an accountant, and he ocassioanally goes away on an audit. Happens maybe 3 times a year. I have family about 20 minutes away, but they never come visit me.  Crying  It definitely gets lonely at time, just me and the cats. We live in Downtown Pittsburgh, and as I'm sure you know living in a city, being home alone is much more tolerable in the Summer. At least then I'm able to get out and do things. The winter just drags.

I use the linked cleaning schedule pretty much to a T. I am very Type A, so if I'm not organized, have a schedule, making lists, I'm pretty much losing my mind. The only thing I add is a thorough bedroom cleaning in addition to the bathrooms, as we only have 1. And Saturdays and Sundays are my "free" days. I plan for the week ahead as late as possible Sunday night.

I have the Living Cookbook software where I organize all of my recipes (a few I've gotten from you!), and plan our meals. I love it. It's so easy.

Other than that, if I didn't have the Bump, the FB group, and my Kindle, I'd most likely lose my mind!! Looking forward to all the craziness a newborn brings! Although, I know once he's here I'm going to have to calm down on the lists. That scares me a bit. Haha.

  • Oh- and as for bills/purchases/all that stuff, I use Excel and have about 10 accordian files of stuff organized in my closet. I'm sure you guys have your own system for that as well, though. I do love a good accordian file.

  • It's tough, MH being away, but I definitely get used to it. He's a Senior Solutions Architect (aka: consultant) for Oracle, he's currently consulting to walmart.com in SF. Super hard to explain since I barely know what he does lol.

It's funny how we both have cats! How many do you have? As you can see from my siggy, I have three :) They definitely keep me company when he's away. Oh, I totally understand what you mean about living in the city! I live in Downtown Chicago and I would go crazy if we didn't live in a big city. It's finally getting nice out so I can go out a lot more now (but it's getting harder since I have to pee every 30 minutes lol). We're actually starting a huge remodel on our master bathroom next Monday so I have to pack up everything in our bathroom and bedroom for the remodel. It'll take 5 weeks to do but it'll be great to have it done once LO is here.

I'm glad you like my blog. That keeps me super busy as well. Thanks for the link too! Feel free to PM me or email me to chat (lmk if you want my email)!
