ETA- I just read your response below. You are a naive and sheltered idiot. Hopefully you will never have to deal with PPD because it is devastating and comes without warning. It cannot be prevented. And it happens to moms who very much want to be a wife and mother but biology decided to play a little game with their bodies.
Do you see that your edit has nothing at all to do with my response? Defensive much? Go cry to someone that cares honey, it ain't gonna be a stranger on an internet message board. And if you think I'm too insensitive for your fragile mind to handle, do us both a favor and click that fuckings block button.
If these people can't function as a wife or mother without the help of drugs, then they probably shouldn't be popping out tons of kids. It's risky for the pregnancy and afterwards it could have a negative impact on the child.
Not to mention passing the condition on to the child as mental disorders are found to be genetic. Who would do that? Have a kid and then cross their fingers.
I'm sorry, I'm just lurking here...but if you have to take medication to be a mother and a wife...maybe you aren't supposed to be those things? Maybe you'd be naturally happy doing something you actually like?
You have a very naive outlook on the world. I suppose you think moms with PPD should never have had their children. Or do you prefer they just suck it up and deal?
PPD is Post partum depression, right? Post meaning after-partum? And it's also a condtion that goes away, correct?
Do I need to point out the differences here, dear?
ppd MAY go away but often times it doesn't. just be thankful it's not ppp (post partum psychosis .. what andrea yates had. you DO know who she is right ?!?)

It's still POST partum. Learn to read. The idea in question is taking the medication WHILE pregnant, not after.

Mother of God. Are you really this stupid?
She is not taking meds because she doesn't enjoy her roles in life. Motherhood and wifehood are not the CAUSE of the disorder.
She is taking meds because her medical condition affects her ability to do those things well. Like an asthmatic might not be able to run and play with a kid without asthma meds, someone with depression or anxiety might not be able to focus on, enjoy time with, etc. the family. These are the EFFECTS of disorder.
If these people can't function as a wife or mother without the help of drugs, then they probably shouldn't be popping out tons of kids. It's risky for the pregnancy and afterwards it could have a negative impact on the child.
lol at 3 = tons of kids. Hyperbole does not add weight to your already faulty argument.

I wonder if assholery is genetic. Better cross your fingers.

Awesome. So your family health history is spotless, huh? No heart disease, diabetes, eyesight problems, dementia, alzheimers, parkinsons, high BP, migraines, thyroid, etc., etc.?
You should totally be an egg donor so everyone's kids can be 100% healthy and perfect just like your pure blood line is.
Oh, and if you are pg and go into pre-term labor, be sure to tell the doctors that you don't want ANY of the medicine to try and stop the contractions because you wouldn't want to pump anything into your unborn baby to try and save it's life - unless maybe pre-term labor is also a sign that the baby shouldn't exist?

Again...why RiSk another human beings life? I'm saying that during pregnancy the drugs she takes could drastically change her child's life. Why risk that?

Taking Zoloft during my pregnancy saved my son's life. It was a drastic change for the better. Come back when you know what thefvck you are talking about.

Edited because I am a potty mouth.
Ok. I'm sure your unborn child needed your drugs to live. Glad he is ok and didn't have any negative side effects.

How about because it is prescribed by a doctor? Is following medical advice considered selfish?

Mental conditions are not the only kind that are genetic. Cardiac conditions, high cholesterol, Huntington's Disease, and breast cancer can also be inherited. Should everyone stop having kids? I feel really, really badly for you that you are so stupid.

I have epilepsy. Do you know that the consequences of my having a seizure while I am pregnant far outweigh the chances that my antiseizure meds MIGHT cause harm to the baby. And what about my health? I took my seizure meds through my entire pregnancy and have a perfectly healthy little boy. Should I have just sterilized myself and never had kids?
Maybe sterilization is something that YOU should consider?
BTW, did you take ANY medication when you were preggers? Did you have an epidural or any pain meds when you delivered?

H was born with one leg. There is a slight chance its genetic. Should we not have kids either?

Wow. So basically anyone who has a chronic illness requiring constant medication shouldn't have children because it can be passed on? Um, okay, that's totally reasonable. Knock out every asmathic person and diabetic person, just to cover some of the more common health problems and for good measure, screen people with a history of cancer and heart disease in the family, cause you wouldn't want children running around who could grow up and develop cancer or die of heart attacks.

Read my blog!
Mom, why are you washing my feed in the sink?!

I know I'm supper late but I just couldn't say nothing.
I suppose you come from a family lineage that has absolutely no health problems that could be passed on? No high cholesterol, high bp, diabetes, cicle cell, cystic fibrosis, huntingtons, cancer, alzhiemers, arthritis, epilepsy, dimentia, etc? Should I go on? Maybe we should start doing genetic engineiring to ensure we never pass on any of our "unpopular" genes to our children.
It must be so lovely living in your perfect world.

I don't care what you think, Judging, I'm just curious.
How do you feel about someone like me who has asthma? Should I not have children b/c I needed medication to help me breathe during pregnancy?
Go fvck yourself and have a nice day.
The enormity of the ignorance in this thread is astounding.
Please, people, do not feed the trolls. Even if they are serious, they don't deserve our attention.
