Trying to Get Pregnant

Time of day for OPKs

Hi Ladies--

This is my first month using OPKs.  The instructions didn't say anything about specific time of day, but with some help from google, I've seen anywhere from 2-8pm as an acceptable time frame.  What time do you test?  During work? After work? Thanks!

ETA: how long do you hold it beforehand?

Re: Time of day for OPKs

  • I usually test at 10am (only if I'm awake prior), 2pm and 6pm. maybe sometimes then at 10pm too... I go crazy with OPKs because my surge doesn't seem to last very long and I'm anxious about missing it.

  • I would test with FMU and again around 3:30-4. I'm odd in that I wouldn't pee at all inbetween tests.  Yes, I can do 10+ hours without peeing.

  • I test CBE Digi OPKs around 2pm in the afternoon after going to the bathroom once in the morning. I also did FMU on 2 out of 3 of my + days this cycle and got a - both times.

  • Thanks for the responses.  Twice a day it is!

This if you're using digital OPKs.  I understand you can't use FMU with ICs.  I also test at 8 or so and midnight if needed.
