Hi
Ive never done CD with any of my other children, but really want to with this one. Is there a CD for dummies or a beginners class or tutorial I could read? I need to know where to start. Ive tried reading a few posts but I am totally confused! There is SO much and Im overwhelmed. Where is a good place to learn about it? Do I need to start purchasing now?? Any help is appreciated!
Re: Newbie, please give me advice
A great place to start is the FAQs at the top of the board homepage (also linking it here).
I also really liked this place for my first read: https://www.jilliansdrawers.com/newtocloth
It really is very easy...get some diapers that you think you'll like, get some soap...done! lol, we all just get so into it, that it gets to be a hobby of sorts. Then come back for any other questions you have
Ditto visiting a shop in person. Otherwise I'd find a CD store that does trials. I know the Giggling Green Bean does. Basically you put down a deposit and get a variety of diapers to try (and you can start your trial when the baby is born) and you return what you don't like at no risk to you at the end of the trial.
Personally, I CD'd to save money so I sought out the least expensive option with the shortest learning curve for daycare (so prefolds were out). I ended up with Sunbaby Diapers, some pre-used pockets of other brands, some seconds and Kawaii's. I also have 3 or 4 other brands that I got for free winning gift cards and what not. Pockets are easy to use IMO but can be a pain to stuff so I have enough that I only have to stuff once a week (wash 3 times).
I am pretty sure there are quite a few. Check out Granola Babies and I know of a store in Ojai, Baby Belle Bottoms. Just google Cloth Diaper Stores Los Angeles or something like that and you will find them!
