Hi ladies! I lurk here every so often, but I'm just now beginning to think about boy names.
What do you all think of the name Darin? Any good middle name ideas?
I was very close to my older cousin who passed away and I want to honor him by using his first initial, but I don't think I could handle using his whole name. I'm also open to any other names that begin with D, especially midcentury-sounding or Italian names.
Re: Darin/other boy names that begin with D?
I LOVE Darin (or Darren, however you want to spell it). This is my top boy name.
What is your cousin's middle initial?
Without knowing that, I like:
Darin Benjamin
Darin Mitchell
Darin Alexander
Darin Peter
Darin Jacob
Dante!
ETA:
Damiano
Danilo
Dario
Davide
Demetrio
Dionisio <-- Love!
Domenico
Donato
Doriano
Duilio
Durante (nn Dante)
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I like Darin a lot.
Other D names, some w/ Italian flair:
Daniel, Donovan, Damion, Dimitri, Davio, Dominic
i'd spell it darren. the darin spelling looks like it should be pronounced dahr-inn. one of my favorites is davis [it's a family name for me but is also a fairly common first name nowadays].
eta: my uncle was darren james. i'd try to find a family middle name, either 1 or 3+ syllables, depending upon your last name.
dislike darin/darren.
i like dominic and damien.
Dain (olde english spelling) or Dane
Thanks ladies! Love several of these suggestions!
My cousin's middle initial is W, but I'm not sold on that. Definitely want a D for the first name (even though our last name begins with a D) to honor him. Anything goes for a middle name.
