My rant for the evening... : )

I called my parents this evening and my dad answered which never happens.  He obviously had something to say....

He asked me what I thought about the royal wedding today and Kate's dress.

Apparently, the talk radio in Dallas today was all about how William should have "footed the bill" for breast augmentation and lip implants for Kate prior to the wedding.  That would have "made" her picture perfect.

My dad was beside himself.  He thinks she is the bomb without all that which, she is.

I'm well into my latter thirties and have been away from Dallas for five years now.  My H and I want to get back but, this has me thinking that I don't want my girls feeling this kind pressure-I grew up with this nonsense....

There is a stereotype and mold that Dallas women tend to gravitate toward to feel pretty.

It must have been a big deal because my dad could give two sh!ts about this kind of thing......How sad that men on talk radio have to critique an absolutely stunning woman and make her into a blow up doll to find any kind a appeal in her.  It's not surprising...

That's how I feel southern California is too. I think I'll stay away from the beach this summer with my twin skin.

There is def not that kind of pressure in Cypress/Houston.  Well atleast I don't come across those kind of people much.  I've never cared for Dallas. I went to college outside of Dallas and all the girls were always done up. Maybe there are some areas that are "normal".

That blows my mind.  I think she's one of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen.

I will say that my male CW said that her "bo0bs looked weird in that dress."  Men.

I think she was just stunning.

You could try the Tyler area since it's close enough to Dallas to see family often.  I went to school there for a couple years and I didn't run into anybody like that around there.  Obviously there were plenty of girls who always dressed their best, did their hair and make up every day, etc, but I never ran into the kind of people that think someone who is already as stunning as Kate Middleton would need a boob job to be pretty.

Wow. Is no one good enough anymore? Unless you look like some plastic-y porn star or animated woman? I don't get it. Those are the men that sit in their basement spanking it all day and all night b/c no one can "live up to their standards." Barf.

Natural beauty is gorgeous. She looked gorgeous. Period.

Ugh. I spent most of my teenage years living in Plano, and I remember how inadequate I felt.  It took many years of living in the northeast to actually think of myself as attractive.  I'm sure the Dallas area isn't like that for everyone, but it was for me.
