I am trying to increase my BM supply. Baby is 3 wks old and I am pumping about 8oz daily. My supply is low in the evening and this is when baby wants to eat the most like every hr to 2 hours. I was thinking about taking fenugreek. Any opinions? What else can increase my supply besides feeding and pumping?
The best way to increase your supply is to let your baby nurse. He will stimulate your milk supply more than a pump can. It is very common for newborns to cluster feed at night. Your body will adjust. It is also very important to drink lots and lots of water
Don't forget to stay hydrated. My supply went way down earlier in the week due to mastitis and finally got back up after I drank massive amounts of water. You can also try to power pump, I think that also helped a little bit for me too.
Ditto what everyone else said - nurse (or if you can't, pump a lot), lots of water, eat oatmeal for breakfast, a dark beer every once in a while and keep a positive attitude!
