When did DC outgrow pack n' play?

We were away this weekend and DS slept in his pack n' play...he slept fine but he looked pretty smooshed in it, and he is so tall that it seems like only a matter of time before he can get out. We plan on keeping him in his crib as long as possible (we'll get a crib tent if he figures how to get out).... what do you use on trips if DS outgrows pack n' play, especially if they are still in a crib at home??

I just got the pea pod for toddlers & will let you know how it goes starting on thurs we will be in Alabama.  I set it up in the living room for DD to get used to & she liked it but didn't stay in it for long so I'm hoping that when she is in the room & it is dark/quite she will sleep in it otherwise we are screwed as she doesn't like to sleep with us.  She made me get in it I could fit all rolled up with my knees to my chest.  Say you can us it up to 3-4 y.o.

My DD also still sleeps in a crib and will stay there for a while.  We used the PeaPod Plus for our last two trips and she loved it.  The nice thing is that you can zip it closed so in keeps her contained like her crib.  She loves sleeping in her little tent.  If you look into them, try ebay.  I got mine brand new in the box and about $30 cheaper than other places.  I would say to make sure you get the plus size one.  The regular size looked a little small.  And the red and blue one keeps light out better than the others.

My son sleeps in a pack n play when we travel, he's fine, and he is 39 inches tall.

SIL uses a sleeping bag, the kids like it & it contains them in one area.  I've also seen an air matress that has a divot in the middle, so they can't roll away.  I can't remember where though.  It looked like a good idea!
