thoughts? Can't believe there isnt a post yet...
I didnt watch the whole thing- I turned it on for her dress- which was lovely for her- nms but I'm not a princess
I saw the kiss- and thank god they did it twice- I mean I understand you are royal but it was so chaste- show some passion kids- its not a crime...
Re: Ok, all you royal wedding watchers...
Why is she not called a princess now?
m/c 1/2/08 and 3/12/08
Eve Amelia- Born 2/24/09. 6lb 9.9oz
Natalie Ruth - Born 6/13/11 7lb 6.6oz
I watched a few minutes of the end of it when I woke up, Rosie really enjoyed watching it with me. After we came downstairs, she said she was going to marry DH, because he was her prince. Also, she demanded we play Winnie the Pooh for her wedding dance with DH.
I really liked the dress, I thought it was very elegant.
I don't think she's called princess because she's not a born royal. She'll officially become a princess when Prince Charles becomes King, and then William will be officially be Prince of Wales. Technically, I think Camilla is now Princess of Wales, but she doesn't use it because of Diana.
I just read that they were bestowed with new titles this morning...they are now known as His/Her Royal Highness Duke/Dutchess of Cambridge (I think it's Cambridge). I wondered the same thing about the Princess title.
Claire got up early this morning so we watched the arrivals, ceremony and departure. I didn't think I would watch as much of it as I did...and then I even set the DVR!
i saw 30 seconds of their vows this morning, DH was so kind to give me that much non-nfl draft review. i just wanted to see her dress. i think it was lovely, simple and elegant. she looked beautiful
looking at the photos at work, there were some awful hats being worn!!
i'm both happy and sad for her. i hope their marriage is long and happy but i wouldn't want to be part of the monacry for all the crown jewels. the pressure and scruitny she will be under isn't worth it to me.
I watched some of the ceremony while I was getting ready for work this morning. I thought her dress was perfect for her. Traditional, but modern.
Only saw pictures of the kiss, but it totally wreaked of decorum.
I just hope that they will be happy and have a strong marriage.
I didn't post anything because you guys were all "I don't understand what the big deal is, I'm not excited about this, I don't know why there is all this hype" blah blah.
I watched the whole ceremony but I missed the kiss. I loved her dress and the tiara and earring - she was perfection. I can't even imagine how nervous she must have been but she looked so calm and just plain happy. Her sister was quite the stunner also. I thought the Queen looked so cute in her yellow suit. Also, I liked how Kate was in the car that was really open so everyone could see her.
I can't wait to get home - I DVRed the whole thing, so I want to put it on and see more of the dresses and hats and the kiss!! Also, they are doing a Fashion Police on it tonight on E!, which I am pretty excited to see. I do hope that they get to have a nice quiet celebration with their friends though, I know this is exciting because it is history but it is really all about the show, the pomp and circumstance, and I hope they really get to enjoy it on their own too.
I forgot to DVR it and regret it. I was so wrapped up in my non sleeping kid that I forgot that history was in the making. I watched the extended version of GMA, though. I think she looked absolutely stunning. I love everything about her attire.
I'm glad the GMA anchors weren't all "ugh, the kiss was so unromantic!" They went on about how great it was. I mean, they're in front of hundreds of thousands of people. Talk about nerves!

Ok and I forgot to add that I loved how the Queen just glossed over Camilla when she was speaking with everyone during her arrival...it was so discreet and nasty...
Yep, I pretty much agree with all of this! Kate seems like such a "normal" person, so down-to-earth and understated. I loved the pomp and circumstance of it, so ceremonial yet they managed to make it their own. Just wait for the hoopla when there is a royal baby! lol
I started watching it at 5am when i got up for work. I thought she was gorgeous. Her sister is as equally beautiful. Both dresses were beautiful. I really liked Pippa's dress. I have never seen anything like it for a bm dress. Kate's dress was elegant. I loved her tiara annd earrings. She was so polished and poised.
I loved watching her in the car. I told dh she isn't waving the right way. I could only imagine how excited/nervous she was.
I love the hats. I would love to wear hats at functions. I want to go to the Derby just to wear a big hat.
I loved it! I ended up waking up early for some odd reason and tuned in. I teared up during the procession and how lovely she looked. How cute William and Harry were, keeping the mood light with little jokes and laughter.
The ceremony was traditional but at the recessional Kate's smile was so priceless and worth it. She's not groomed with the restraint that William is so it was nice to see how happy she was.
I think the kisses on the balcony were sweet and I'm sure anyone being watched by millions of people would be a bit nervous and it might not be a zinger of all kisses. But again I thought they were sweet...esp after the second kiss and Kate's little laugh with the shoulder shrug. I liked how you could see their personalities up there.
Over all I loved it and as many have said I hope that they have a long, happy and peaceful marriage.
