Diaper rash with BG3.0

DS is finally big enough to wear the BG3.0s we invested in.  So far they are working great.  Only problem is with diaper rash.  We change him frequently so I don't think it has anything to do with sitting around in a wet diaper.  DS had a little diaper rash before when we used the disposables and it usually cleared up with some some rash cream.  However, the BG people really discourage the use of creams with their diapers because it can affect absorption.  Anyone have any suggestions for treating diaper rash with my BGs?

  • Did you buy them through cottonbabies.com?  You may want to contact them to ask what they suggest.

  • There are some diaper rash creams that are safe to use with CD's.  I can't remember now what they are but I know someone else on here can tell you.  Another option is to use a liner of some sort - either flushable or just some fleece.  That way the cream will rub onto the liner not the diaper.

  • BGs does not recommend using any creams, even those listed on the pinstripes website, because the pocket covers (if you're using pockets) can clog too easily. I typically use the burt's baby bee skin cream and cover with a fleece liner so the cream doesn't touch the CD.

I put it on DS that way every night just as a preventative measure. He did get a little rash once, but it was more of a heat rash and cleared up quickly.
