Trouble TTC

Clomid, Hcg, no AF but BFN?

So, today AF was supossed to come (for a 28 day cycle). I was normally 26-27 days, with huge red flags before hand, headache, cramps, loss of appetite.

I did my first round of Clomid and the Hcg trigger. Like I said I was supossed to get AF today and nothing. Nor do I feel like it. I have been a pycho-tester the last few days since 9dpo. I know, no need for the lecture..

Did anyone find that thier cycles on Clomid or the trigger changed? My Dr told me to test the morning of the 28th ( this morning) and bfn.

Just curious what everyones first cycle on clomid was like? Thanks!!!

  • Clomid can lengthen your cycle. I think the average cycle on Clomid is right around 33 days.  I would recommend you test every other morning till CD 35, then call your RE.

  • Agreed, clomid can lengthen your luteal phase.  While I ovulated much earlier than I ever have and had a shorter cycle then ever, my luteal phase 15 days (it's normally 13 days).

  • I triggered on CD13. I had 5 follies: 11mm, 12mm, 13mm 15mm, and a 26mm. I didn't have the 7 day prog. done.
  • My first (and so far only) cycle of clomid I got the trigger on cd12, IUI on cd14 and AF showed night (9pm) of cd25 so 11 day LP.  But I still think I actually O'd on cd12 when I had the ultrasound before I bothered to give myself the trigger because AF came so soon.  Normal LP on progresterone supps is 13 days.

  • Thanks!!

There is a way to confirm my ovulation I think, I had a post ovulation ultrasound and my dr measured the follies, and they had shrunk and had debris in 3 of them, leading him to believe that I O'd 3 times. I had the p/o u/s becuase he wanted to make sure the large one wasnt a cyst. since it, and some of the others shrunk inside he thinks that they were follies. Weather or not the were mature or too mature (the big one) at the time of the trigger, who knows.

    Thanks for your thoughts!!

  • I agree with PP. It is probably a longer luteal phase. Although- I am in the same situation- Clomid- trigger- no AF. It ended up being a cyst. I think I am about 30dpo at this point- just waiting for it to go away. Good luck!

  • My first cycle on clomid, my LP was 1 day longer than normal.  My second/current cycle, my LP is off the charts--like 24 days long or something.  This is because I have a cyst.  However, I was also having other signs that something was wrong--my temp went way down and I started getting EWCM again.  Give it a couple more days and if AF still hasn't come then contact your dr.
