Hi all,
I just wanted to introduce myself to this group as I am now 37 and
expecting #2. I'm a little nervous. I went 5 months with undiagnosed
preclampsia in my first pregnancy. I am much healthier now than i was
then (I lost 80 pounds after a partial knee replacement), but I'm still a
little concerned because of my age and health issues.
I have not been on the bump since DS was born in June '09. We just found out that we are expecting number 2. It came as quite a shock, but we are of course thrilled!

On a side note, are any of you who are on your second having excruciating morning sickness? Mine is soooooo much worse than last time. I called the doc, but I'm waiting to hear back.
Thanks ladies!

Re: Introduction
Hi Brenda,
Welcome to the board. I am expecting my first baby, so I can not compare this time around with a previous pregnancy, but my morning sickness was pretty bad! It started at around the 8th week and subsided around the 14th week. I did not vomit, but I was nauseous literally all the time. It eventually went away though:)
Sending some sticky dust your way and wishing you H&H pregnancy! Keep us posted.
Welcome!! And congrats!
I've got hyperemesis (all day, all 9 months morning sickness to the extreme) so I can relate - but I had it with my first 2 as well. If it's interfering with normal life, talk to your doctor about some relief, it's better to keep it under control otherwise you'll end up dehydrated which leads to more throwing up which leads to eventually needing to go to the hospital for rehydration.
Welcome!
I have chronic knee problems as well. There's literally no cartridge left in my right knee and I've had 3 knee surgeries on it. I've been avoiding total knee replacement because frankly, Titanium Knees don't restore enough functionality to make it worth while. When I can no longer walk at all, I will reconsider, but for now.. It won't net me any gain.
I can tell you that the joint pain during pregnancy is horrendous and I'm glad it's nearly over.
Sorry to hear about your m/s. Hope you feel better soon!
