Finally settled! (question about nose bleeds!)

After a few days away from the computer, I am back! But definitely quite far from Seattle. We spent 32 hours in a Budget truck, and drove over 1700 miles to get to our new house. This house is nice, (MIL was the only one to see it before we moved) but it was DIRTY! I spent a whole day cleaning before I would let DH move in any of our belongings.

But anywho!

I have always managed to get really bad nosebleeds in the summer time. The doctor said it was because the vessels in my nose are really sensitive. But last night after blowing my nose, I got a REALLY bad one.

Usually 30 min was the longest they have been. Last night was an hour and 15 min of non-stop gushing. Blood everywhere, and I got really light headed. I get them so often that I usually don't freak out, but I was really worried. DH was freaking out too, because there was blood all over the bathroom.

How long is too long to wait out a bloody nose before seeking help? Especially when you are pregnant?

  • I don't know the answer but call your OB and ask.  Pregnancy is probably making your nosebleeds worse than usual.  I never get nose bleeds normally but have gotten them with both pregnancies/

  • I never got them either until pregnancy, but freak out when I do get them.  It would not hurt asking your dr about it.  Also the new weather might have something to do with it too!

  • I get nosebleeds and I got them 4 or 5 times a day when I was pg.  You might just call your ob and ask but I dont think there is a whole lot they can do for nosebleeds.  Are you applying steady pressure?
