Just got a nice kick in the ass (vent)

I called up a good friend of mine the other day to congratualte her on passing her real estate exam only to be told that she is engaged.... and prego. This is coming from someone who is supposed to be on BCP as well as rarely having sex with her boyfriend because they hardly ever see each other. The best part is when she told me that she cried for 3 days after finding out. I couldn't believe that she told me that last part, are you freaking kidding me!!! Why would you tell someone that you know is going through IF that you cried for 3 days after finding out!!!! I haven't talked to her since she told me and not sure when I will be able to any time soon. I know it's a little petty but I am really hurt that she had to include that in the news.

 Thanks for letting me vent, I know you ladies understand what I am going through with this.

People can be so self centered. She probably won't realize her oversight, but you have every right to feel hurt and sad. I think it's so difficult when things are sprung on you like that, especially after knowing how long the IF waiting game can take.

That was incredibly insensitive.  Not sure if this will help but I just went to lunch with some co-workers who all know I'm seeing a fertility specialist and proceeded to tell me how grateful they are that they got their tubes tied, that they couldn't take being pregnant again and how awful delivery is...  Sometimes I just chalk it up to people being so self-involved with their own issues, feelings, or problems that they have tunnel vision.  A friend of mine always tells me that everyones problems are relative to them so I try to think of that too.  Sometimes it doesn't work and I like to give a little dose of perspective, but sometimes its a better way to look at things.

Sorry you had to deal with this.  Some people have no common sense or courtesy towards others.  They only think about themselves.

She called yesterday and left me a message asking how I was doing and how the meds were going. I was taken aback because she is in on what is going on with my schedule of meds and appointments. She is supposed to be a good friend of mine. It just made me feel like she doesn't think or listen to anyone but herself.
