William's home birth story

Short story:
William was born on 4.22.11 at 11:19 pm weighing 7 lbs 14 oz and 21 inches long. We planned to birth at home, possibly a water birth. I had the kiddie inflatable pool, pump, and hose ready to go. However I decided not to have DH inflate the pool so we birthed upstairs in our bedroom. It was amazing!
We had a completely different midwife than we had planned (and one that I had never met!) that caused some initial stress. But the entire labor and birth went perfectly. I could not be more happy. It was so different and liberating compared to the natural hospital birth of my first son.
If William had waited another 41 minutes he would have been born on his due date. But I?ll take my Good Friday and Earth Day baby! We?re all healthy and happy and very thankful that everything went smoothly for our home birth.
