November 2011 Moms

It's not that kind of tired.

I'm close to my coworkers and have already told them about the pregnancy.  They've been supportive and understanding.  I've been fine, haven't missed any work except for my 1 doc appt so far.  But, today, I've been struggling since about 10 am just to stay awake.  Now it's 4 pm.  I've been tired almost every day.  I make it, but some days it just HITS you and you can't fight it.  (As I know all of you know.)  I told CW that I may leave and go home, but was trying to push through.  I've been kind of naseous and extremely tired all day.  I've made it this far and I'm trying SO hard to make it to 5.  CW's suggesting I have some coffee, go outside for a walk, etc.  I'm so far beyond that point, it's not even funny.  Zzzzz....

  • We are due on the same day!  :) But you just wrote out exactly how I'm feeling today, this morning after I had to hit the snooze for the 3rd time and already knew I was going to run late I was thinking of all the possible reasons that I could stay in bed but I came into work and am also pushing through til 5! I feel your pain and wish you nothing but wonderful sleep when you do finally get to go home (but don't ever feel bad if you have to go home because you are sleepy, I think we are entitled).

  • You should have only a few more weeks of it. My fatigue and fuzzy headedness are going away already.

I was shutting my office door and taking mini shut-eye breaks during work. It seemed to help.

  • Weeks 9 and 10 was when I was most tired.  I would come home and take a 2-3 hour nap then go to bed just fine around 9:00.  It was ridiculous but I started to get some energy back during the 11th week.  DH was so understanding but would laugh because I was like a walking zombie.  It will get better!  Until then, sleep away (when you can)!  :)

  • I feel the same way!  I have only told a couple of co-workers so far, but as soon as I say I'm tired, they suggest all of the "normal" things, like tea or eating an apple.  It's SO far beyond that it's not even funny.  I haven't been this tired since pulling consecutive all-nighters during finals week in college!

  • I'm so excited to know it won't last the whole time. Gives me hope! Haha. My husband has been so great, I feel so guilty. I'm happy to have a place to talk about stuff with ladies who relate!
  • yeah, sure have some caffeine. You aren't like pregnant and supposed to be avoiding caffeine or anything right? Sorry, that's just irritating. When you get tired you have to sleep and a nap is not enough. I hope it doesn't last long since you have to work a regular job.
