Emmaline or Emmeline for a girl? I personally love it, but I want an outsider's perspective. We already have one daughter named Vivienne. Our last name is one syllable and starts with an L.
I personally like Emmelina better don't know if its a real name but once met a girl my age with that name. Your way I think its pretty and sounds similar to your DD's name but same style pretty.

I love Emmeline, it was on our girl list. But, my issues were the whole Emma-popularity and the fact that when you say it quickly it sounds like Emily.
As a standalone name, I love Emmeline (prefer this spelling).
If you pronounce the ending of DD1's name as "-EN" (which is how I'd pronounce it), then I think the two names are fine together. But if you pronounce the end of her name as "-IN", then I think they're too rhymey.

They are similar in that they both end in the -/in/ sound. The two are a little too rhymy for me. I don't care for Emmaline.
exactly.
Only if you pronounce it that way.
I think the most common pronunciation is --leen, with --line coming in second.
that definitely makes a difference.
OP, how do you pronounce emmaline?
Definitely makes a difference.. I've never known anyone to pronounce it Emma /leen/, but if that's how you are going to say it, then it sounds fine with Vivienne (though I still don't prefer it).
Emmaline and Vivienne nearly rhyme the way I pronounce them (without knowing if you are going for -line or -leen), so I'm going to agree that they are too similar.

Re: What do you think of ...
i wouldn't use emmaline if i already had a daughter named vivienne. they're way too similar...besides, vivienne is better.
don't prefer emmaline.
Huh? Similar how?
OP, I like the name and think it's fine with your daughter's name.
I think it's lovely and I think it works really well with your other DD's name.

Thanks. I was confused, too. I don't see how the two are that similar - at all. But to each her own.
exactly.
yup.
let's not act like my comment was out of left field. perhaps you (OP) don't pronounce the names the same way that i do. whatevs.
