S/O: Do you think you'll get anything for Mother's Day this year?

I guess this is more toward 1st time moms (because I sure HOPE you 2nd, 3rd, 4th timers get Mother's Day gifts already!!)...

Anyone asking or hinting for anything this year?

Me = not so much.  But, I am buying MH a Big Green Egg for his first Father's Day present.  We haven't really talked about it, but we like to surprise each other.

I've hinted (well, bluntly asked because this is how you hint with my DH) for a new ring for my right hand.  Nothing fancy, just a solid white gold or platinum band.

I know my mom and MIL will get me something sweet! DH, im not so sure. Dont know if he will think of it on his own or not but someone {mom or MIL} will probably hint about it. We will be on vacation that week so he will probably just tell me to pick something out

All I really want is to spend the day with DH and DS and maybe get a handmade card or picture from DS.  DH might pick up some flowers or something small. I don't really care much about that stuff.  We're generally not big gift givers.  If we didn't already have DS, I would be extremely surprised if DH got me anything and I wouldn't want anything.

When I was pregnant with DD, she was due about 2 weeks after Mother's Day and I kept hinting to DH that I wanted something for Mother's Day...nothing big, just acknowledgement with a little card and maybe flowers since he NEVER buys flowers.

He didn't get me anything, but my mom did and it about made me cry. She got me a beautiful Mom frame from Things Remembered with a sweet little saying engraved on it, and a book for me to later read to DD. One of my sisters gave me some flowers, too.

My dh already got me my Mother's Day present. He got me an elective ultrasound to find out the sex of our baby. We go a few days after Mother's Day.

That's kind of how I feel (like it would be weird to receive something this year).  I am giving MH the big green egg as a father's day gift because a) we don't do anniversary gifts and b/c) christmas will be obviously focused on just trying to keep a baby alive and I know I won't have time to shop and his bday is in Feb and I doubt I can do it then also.  So, since June is father's day, I figured it was an excuse to finally treat him to something he's wanted for a few years now   And then I got curious if anyone was getting anything for Mother's Day because I hadn't even thought about myself!  Typical.

Maybe it's a southern thing?  I never thought about it before, but maybe this is a regional brand.

It's this smoker thing that boys get obsessed with. We have a grill, but this is "so different".  I will say....I am tempted to bake a cake in it.  It advertises that you can!  HAHAHA  Anyway, it's an investment, and I'd like to do it before Baby W comes and all my personal allowance goes to shopping!

When I was pregnant last mother's day with DS (our first) we didnt' do anything for mother or father's day because we technically weren't parents...however, my DH basically said I would get a kick arse push gift.

i don't expect anything, but i wouldn't refuse any gift

i jokingly sent my mom a link to a purse i wanted. i wouldn't be surprised if my husband did something for me because he does random little things like that when they're least expected. but i won't be disappointed if i don't get anything.

now, next year will be a different story! lol

i did hint (aka take my husband to the mall & point it out) that i wanted a topaz/citrine ring since the baby will be born in november.

DH got me flowers and a card last year while I was pregnant with DS. My mom got me a beautiful hand painted frame of our ultrasound pic that said, "A mother's joy begins when new life is stirring inside, when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the fiirst time and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone." I was sobbing at brunch.

This year, I've asked for a gift certificate for the photographer we used for DS's newborn photos, to help cover the cost of the same photo shoot for Baby #2.

My DH asked me on Saturday (with my FIL along) what I wanted.  It really threw me off gaurd, I had kinda thought of this, but I hate to ask for something.  I would love if he would just plan ahead of time (he normally shops the day of and I get it in a wal-mart bag).  It would be nice to get something.  I do feel like I am a mom this year (I may not be able to hold my child, but I still am a mom to my LO inside).

I am planning to get something for DH for father's day.  I am not sure what yet, though.  I have some time to think on that one.

I think I will from hubby and my mom and sister. I'm a stepmom right now and every year for the last 9 they have included me in mom's day, and when my sister was prego with her first we got her something. We are all too excited to wait to start celebrating.

My fiance is in Afghanistan (he's a Marine) right now but he has already told my sis he is planning to send me something for Mother's Day. She had been hinting that he should and he told her he was way ahead of her. He's too amazing
