As president of the "my belly is way too huge for how far along I am" society, I have wonderful news for you ladies! When I went to my MW appointment, at 12 weeks, I discovered that my uterus was way higher than it is supposed to be at 12 weeks...like an inch or 2 below my belly button. My MW felt my belly, and I expected her to get down into my junk, but she stopped just below my belly. She placed the doppler there and found the heartbeat right away. Yay! I'm not just ridiculously bloated!
Re: Bloat vs. Baby
I know! But now I am proudly wearing form-fitting shirts to show off my belly. It feels good to know that I am not just passing off gut as baby! Haha.
I couldn't find it on my own, but the MW found it with no problem. Now when I touch that area, I think I can feel a difference, but I am not really sure. And I am trying not to poke the baby too much, lol! It's firmer. However, I think how your abdominal muscles are holding up plays a part in things too...
LOL, when we were at our appointment on Friday, after the MW found the heartbeat, I asked her to make sure there was only 1!
