Pumping question

So I'm pretty confused. For instance..I'll pump 3 oz..and then when we put it in the bottle for him to eat at a later date..its a half ounce less! How is that right? The little bottle I pump in clearly says 3 oz that I have in there! But it always says 2.5 oz when we put it in a different bottle. Anybody know why?

You should heat up the bottle then swirl it. The fat settles at the top and it can make the oz look weird straight from the fridge. Mine dont usually show that much of a variance though, more like 1/4 of an oz difference when the fat is all on top. It could also be your bottles too, like one of them is not very accurate?
