Cloth Diapering

Yeast?

My DD is constantly getting a yeast rash and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I am wondering if she gets it from the CD's?  When she develops a rash, I put her in sposies and I to wash all the CD's with a vinegar rinse to kill any lingering yeast.  Is there something else I should be doing to kill the yeast in the diapers?  I feel like she's in disposables WAY more than cloth these days.

Re: Yeast?

  • 20-30 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract with the detergent should kill the yeast.  You should be able to get GSE at the health food store.

  • I don't think vinegar kills yeast.  Bleach will kill it.  Put 1/4 cup in the wash and rinse, rinse, rinse.

This. Yeast is hard to kill. Sometimes some people have success with GSE but bleach always does the trick so that's what I recommend.
