I discovered that you can buy baby food with Subscribe & Save. Yay! Does anyone else do this? If so, does your Amazon Mom discount apply?
If so, is there something special that you have to do during checkout? Usually the Amazon Mom discount automatically shows up when I buy diapers, wipes, etc., but it doesn't when I tried to order baby food.
Re: Amazon Mom, Re Baby Food
Are you doing it to save money? If so, I found that it's cheaper to buy baby food at stores with a coupon.
Actually, it's cheapest to make your own. I did pretty much all of my fruits and veggies (it was easy peasy) and only bought jarred food for meats.

Yes, purely to save money. I guess I didn't really research to see how much I'd be saving. I just figured S&S had to be the cheapest way possible since I know it is for diapers and wipes.
Since you make your own, what machine do you use?
I have the Beaba - Christmas gift from the boys.
In retrospect, not worth the $150. I wouldn't have bought it, but DH needed a christmas gift idea...
Anyway, just get a steamer and a food processor (if you don't already have one). Start by making sweet potatoes, I feel like those were really easy. No need to ever make apples, just buy the adult jarred natural applesauce, it's the same stuff.
I started the boys with bananas first. Just mush with a little bit of formula. Then we did avocados. Now I routinely do sweet potatoes, squash, avocados, bananas, and pears.

I think the extra 15% off is just for diapers and wipes - awesome deal.
As far as $$ on baby food, I agree, making food is cheapest. And like OS said, things like avo, banana are great... no cooking involved. Sweet potatoes we just microwaved and mashed with water, or you can add BM or formula. Then freeze stuff in ice cube trays. It's really pretty easy! We did some jar food too for convenience, but the $ does add up.
Yeah, S&S for food doesn't save money.
Here's a great site to make your own baby food if you want to save money - helps you think of variety too. It's really easy. I think sweet potatoes and squash are the easiest. I just roast them in the oven. To puree, I just use a mini food processor that attaches to my blender- something I already owned. Or you could use a full size food processor. I freeze my purees in ice cube trays, then pop them out and store them in gallon freezer bags.
