Anatomy Ultrasound Scheduled

So, I caved and decided not to wait for the anatomy ultrasound at my Dr's office (unless they can schedule around the same time) and have booked an optional 3D ultrasound for June 2nd!!! I cannot wait! Am justifying it by saying that DH's family lives in the UK and needs to be able to see DVD and pictures (which i wont get at the Dr's office) and it cost the same as 8 lunches out (which I will compensate by bringing my lunch 8 more times). SO EXCITED!

So cool!  We're sticking with the regular anatomy ultrasound in mid-June.  It's covered by insurance.  I may cave and get a 3D one a few weeks before the due date, though, depending on cost.

i planned on getting the optional 3D ultrasound at 16wks too because quite a few doctors in the obgyn practice i go to refuse to go the anatomy ultrasound until 20wks and i'm just not that patient. i already had an appointment for may 27th. they only charge $50. i lucked out though, because my ob apparently isn't a stickler for the 20wk rule and added an ultrasound to my may 23rd appointment i'm counting down the days! CAN'T WAIT

Wow, I did not even know there were options about ultrasounds. You ladies just gave me some ideas.

I am going to a place calle Fun Fetal Photos down by ours. Probably called a number of different things, but I jut googled optional ultrasounds. I will just knock the price off maternity clothes or something else.

I just looked into this today and I think I'm going to schedule the anatomy scan earlier. They said if they can't get a clear picture they will let you come back within 14 days to try again. I am so impatient so it's worth the cost to have one done early. My doctor is a stickler for the 20 week ultrasound!

I LOVE how you've broken the cost down into lunches. Haha! Have fun. We are only planning 1 u/s (anatomy scan around 20 weeks), but we'll see if I stick to that the whole pregnancy!

I think the biggest reason it?s a plus is the DVD, CD, etc. I know DH?s mom feels a bit out of the loop being overseas and this would allow us to share in the process a bit. As for the breaking costs down... it?s the only way I can justify new appliances, new clothes, new anything. I am not a penny pincher by any means (to my own downfall sometimes), but something like this makes sense to justify by breaking it down. I spend $80 without thinking sometimes? I think something like this (when a Dr?s visit is $40 with ultrasound ? and 2 pictures) is worth it J Will be fun. Might do another one toward the end of the 3^rd so I can see the face, features, etc.
