Per this thread, we're hoping to condense a lot of the "gawker" threads into one! We thought this would make them more fun to browse and the board an easier read. We'll start a new thread every day to keep the list fresh.
Anyone is welcome to add to the post--local hospital names, the awful name you over heard at the park, Facebook horrors, and anything else that might give us a good chuckle! Feel free to comment, too.
Re: Post your facebook, hospital & other name horrors here
The sister of a girl I know from high school just had a baby and named her Juniper Lyra. They are calling her Juno.
I saw a newborn baby girl at the grocery yesterday and I of course asked her name, the mom said Peyton, we spell it Paytyn isn't that cool?!
Um, yes. Very cool.
Someone just posted on facebook about their Godson, McLean Harrison.. Harrison is nice... McLean reminds me of Mr. Clean.
Also on the radio this morning they were talking about a local TV reporter in the area who's name is Dylan Dreyer... its a woman... apparently a very attractive woman because that was what they were talking about haha
Was going through a friend's facebook photos of a recent vacation with her high school friends. One woman tagged was named Jorgelina. Even if you speak Spanish, this is a horrible, horrible name. Georgia is classy, Jorgelina just sounds like the parents either really wanted a boy or absolutely had to honor a male ancestor named Jorge.
Seen on 3rd tri: Rilynn.
Makes me want to say it like Ritalin.
Apparently Rihanna's real name: Robyn.
Love Robin spelled correctly though.
Seen on the credits for "The Other Guys": Analeise.
Nice enough sounding name (Ann Elise?), unfortunate spelling
I kind of love Juniper, actually! NN June would be adorable.

ETA: Sterling Fox.
Robyn is a legitimate alternate spelling for Robin.
It still looks like part of the ridiculous unnecessary "Y" trend.
Larkin
Khianna Arneigh
Skye Jewel
Lakin Aniah
I think Dielle is Dee-Elle.

The actually only know anyone named Robyn spelled with the Y. They're all over the age of nineteen and there are six of them. Therefore it can't be a part of the Y trend when that seems to just be beginning, while these women have been named for almost twenty years and more. (Not trying to sound mean or anything, just making my point
)
I think Juniper Lyra is a gorgeous name. Especially for such a gorgeous little girl.
Also-- You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Instead of creating a community of support, trust and acceptance, you are breeding hate and ignorance.
Choosing a name is a personal thing between parents, and just because it isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean that the name is horrible. I might never name my children Logan or Jennifer but it doesn't mean that I think any less of the parents.
You are all parents or about the become parents, maybe you should stop and think about what kind of influence you want to be in your child's life.
This thread should be deleted.
Mommy of Magdalena and Hannibal.
This thread is not an attempt to breed hate or ignorance. It is an attempt to combine the multiple threads that complain about names into one thread, so the board regulars can be more helpful to the people who really do have questions for us.
Unlike you, I don't DD my threads. Sorry.
