I try to take them each for a one-on-one date every 2-3 months or so. It is the easiest thing in the world, at least compared to taking both of them out. But seriously, life is a freaking breeze with only one baby when you're used to having two at all times.
So far we never pick only one of the twins to go places on their own... we usually take Griffin if we're doing that - b/c he's older and really understands, and appreciates the alone time more.
The twins end up getting "alone" time often when one is sick or has a doc appt (they both see specialists for separate things)... I know that's bad - but that's just how it's worked out.
when they are older we'll schedule things with one more often - when they can all understand that "today it's HIS turn to go out with mommy and daddy... your turn is next week" , etc. right now I'd just feel guilt separating the twins for no needed reason.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
It was easy - I've taken one of them to grocery store. It felt weird to me, feels like I "lost" the other one since I'm not used to seeing one without the other.
I try to rotate or just take the baby who needs it more.
Me: PCOs DH: Perfect!
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!

this. I take just one on sundays to the grocery store every week. Sometimes we'll split them up on saturday too depending on what we're doing. The car seats make it tricky. I love spending time with them like that.

I agree with everyone else, it feels sooo easy when you're used to having two AND barely anyone stops you so if you're in a rush, that part is nice too. We have a cheapy single umbrella stroller (I am a twin so my mom thought to get this for us knowing that every once in awhile we would want to take just one out - I don't know that I would have thought to get it for myself). I just try to remember who I took last so that they each get a turn but really, they are each getting one on one time with a parent without having their brother there, so no one really "loses" in my opinion.

I frequently will take just one to the grocery store. It is easy. When they get older I'll probably do mommy dates but for now it is usually just a quick errand.

I just realized this the other day, that DH or I could go out with just one ... typically, we leave both at home, so the errands get done faster and back home to help again. I feel like if I took one, I would miss the other .... hmmm how would I decide which to take?

Good luck and enjoy
