I just found a DSNG for $45 on Craigslist. Offered $35, and the seller said she was firm at $40. Her location is about 20 miles north of us. DH doesn't think it's worth it to drive that far with the cost of gas when we can get a new one on Amazon for $78 with free shipping with a gift card that we have. I say we're still saving $30-$35, even with gas factored in, and there's a lot of other stuff on our Amazon registry that we need. DH said he'd only do it for $35, while I think it's a little silly to quibble over $5. Thoughts?
ETA: DH has to pick it up since I'm on bedrest, so he's factoring that into the equation as well.
Re: Who's right--me or DH?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
LOL! I think saying he'd pay $35 vs $40 is silly....BUT....
I think I side with DH! Sorry! LOL. I could see myself saying the same thing- I could get it on Amazon with a gift card and have it show up at my house brand new without driving 20 miles......
But I can be pretty silly about that kind of stuff.
Can you pay the $40 and ask the seller to meet you at a half way point to pick it up? Then it might make your DH happy since he would only have to drive 10 miles.
I've definitely made some too high purchases of used items so I think if it's possible, check around a few more places if you can. I know that the MoMs in my twin club advertise theirs for sale for like $25-35 dollars. I know a lady who just even posted one for $20!
GL! If it's worth it to you for $40, go for it. What's $5 anyway (sadly, a Grande coffee drink at Starbucks these days)...
I drove 20 minutes to get mine - I paid $30.
I see you are already 32 weeks, I say go and get it. If it was earlier in your pregnancy, I'd wait, since those come up on CL all the time (at least around here).
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!
I have a saying in my house: You're married. Sometimes you have to do sh!t you don't want to do.
I don't bust it out often, but if this is a big deal to you (it would be a big deal to me), cash in the married chip!
