Pediatrician in Hackensack or Hoboken

I'm delivering in Hackensack and looking for a Ped that has privileges there, does any have good recommendations? Is is really important to have the same pediatrician be there at the hospital? I'm having trouble finding one in Hoboken who has privileges at Hackensack and considering just using whomever is at the hospital at the time and then switch over the Hoboken.

I don't really have a suggestion for you since you are in Hoboken and mine is in Paramus, but I would just suggest you pick someone that is close to your house so that if you have to go in for a sick visit you aren't driving a half hour away with a sick kid in the car. You could just use the house pediatrician and then use your own after you are discharged. Just check with your insurance to make sure they are covered. The pediatrician is just going to see the baby twice (maybe 4 times if you have a c/s) in the hospital who you pick after you will see every month for the first year pretty much.

I agree.  My son was seen by a hospital ped at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, but we ultimately went with someone else who's office is literally a ten minute walk from my apartment. It makes life simpler with our Ped down the road as opposed to across town, especially since I'm still a public transport and walking kind of traveler. It shouldn't be a problem.

The only one I can think of that could have privileges is Riverside Pediatrics. They have so many locations in Hudson county and also a location in Hackensack right near the hospital. Check out their website:
