Did not get to hear heartbeat...

I had my first OB today (other than my first office visit where they did a US to detect my due date and see heartbeat) and was realllly excited to actually hear the heartbeat but it didnt happen...dr says my cervix is tilted which may be why and its also soon to be hearing it.  I thought you could hear it by now ...i got really upset but he assured me all is just fine.

I think you should go to a specialist, I have an extremely tilted uterus and I am 10 1/2 weeks along. At 7 weeks my OBGYN couldn't even see the embryo, and of course I was completely freaked and decided to make an appointment the next day. It turned out everything was fine, and I was over the moon to hear the heartbeat. I saw it again at 9 weeks with my regular, and we saw the arms and legs moving. Don't be worried until you know for a fact!

How far along are you?

My Dr won't even try the doppler until 12 weeks.

I could totally be talking out my butt, but I think it depends on the machine since I know some ladies have hear the hb on u/s.  I've had two u/s - one with the dildo-cam and one on the belly and I have yet to hear the heartbeat.  I find just seeing it reassuring enough.  I believe at my actual 12 week appointment next Monday, they're going to try to the doppler.  I don't think it's anything to worry about.
