And also SPL uses them too! I always felt bad when patrons came in asking what kind of ereader to buy. We always told them any, but the amazon kindle if you want to use the free library e-books. I am glad that amazon finally decided to do something about it!!
Now I just have to decide which has better funtionality - is the Color Nook really worth the extra money or will I like a Kindle 3 better.
Hmm that I don't have any idea. I am embarrased to say that DH got me an nextbook for xmas and it had issues so we returned it, but I didn't like it so I haven't got a replacement one. For some reason I can't get into it. I think I am like the only one at the library who doesn't own one! *LOL*

I've actually resisted it too. I love the smell, the weight and the feel of books. I think I will always buy paper copies of the books I absolutely love.
But the reality is, with two kids, and being that I use the library so heavily, if I want to continue reading the way I do, it'd be really awesome, not to mention efficient, to have an eReader. I wouldn't have to go to the library to get my books. Not that I don't love going to the library - I totally do. I just want my trips to the library to be for fun, not just a quick errand I have to make so I have something on the train every day.
I just got a Kindle hoping that Amazon would get with with the program. So far I love it! The reason I picked the Kindle over the Nook was because of battery life, and the keypads. Most of the books I read are not available for ereaders at my library anyway, so I figured I would just go with Kindle since, to me, it's a better product.

Re: Amazon to offer library access to Kindle e-Readers
And the better news....Overdrive, the company mentioned in the article, is who KCLS uses to offer eBooks.
This is FANTASTIC news!! I was about to convince myself to buy a Color Nook - which is MUCH more expensive!
