when i brought up that my dd said the teacher said she doesnt care when she tries to tell him so n so took this.. she said that kids have been bringing toys in a lot lately and always coming to her complaining and she got tired of it and basically told them she doesnt really care.. maybe not in those words.. but basically shes putting them off about it because it happens every 5 min. so dd wasnt lying.
she said dd has been acting up a bit over the last couple weeks. she said she thinks thats normal because all the other kids are doing it too since its after spring break and towards the end of the year and kids are just tired of school.
now.. heres a part where i love her teacher. dd has been having issues being mixed race. i am white, her daddy is from africa. dd wants to have peach skin and sometimes kids tease her for being brown and having a white mommy. so her teacher, now knows about this and is going to try to incorporate into her lessons.. to teach them that everyone is the same and equal and such.
she said she and a certain boy seems like they really like eachother.. but butt heads sometimes and they end up getting in trouble. she tries to keep them separated. then at recess coming back into the line, a girl pushed her out of the way to get in front of her. and thats when she got mad an pushed her back.
the school is going to teach her social skills, boundaries and to think before she acts. to keep her cool. shes going to go to counseling once a week. they think she is a very lovely girl, very nice and smart.. just has horrible coping and social skills.
Re: talked to the teacher today
I think its COMMON for kindergarten teachers to "brush off" students for tattling EVERY time anything happens. in Kindergarten kids need to learn to "use their words" and work it out themselves. Running to the teacher every single time prevents ANY learning from happening and is a big disruption. Both my girls went through this in kindergarten too. "I told her and she said too bad, so sad." its not a bad thing for teachers to do.
i know, an i dont disagree.. im just glad i heard the teachers side of how it was really said.. the way dd said it made it sound upsetting. but i totaly get the teacher.
i wish she had this teacher every year hah
