Maternity Swimwear

Summer is coming and with a vacation planned I am going to have to purchase a swimsuit, however maternity swimwear is not really all that attractive (IMO).  I have been searching the stores and have come up with nothing, which means I will most likely have to order online.

Here are some options that I have found....what do you think?

I am also torn between a one piece and a two piece suit (tankini style)...just because I think it would be easier to use the bathroom in a two piece.  Embarrassed

Thanks!

  • I think option 1 is really cute.

This is not a maternity swimsuit--but I bought it for my vacation next week and with all the ruching it will work until the end of summer.  Mine is pink with white polkadots.  I needed something fast when I realized that my regular suit just wasn't going to work and couldn't find any maternity suits locally that didn't look geriatric.

  • I very rarely wear a swim suit, but if I do, I will be rocking a bikini! When I was young I used to say I'd do that, and I am too cheap to buy a new suit! Plus, I want to show off the belly!

  • I LOVE the first one! And with the amount of times you'll probably have to pee, it might be a better choice :) Two is very classic though! I wore a bikini the other day bc the only one piece I have doesn't fit anymore due to the belly :( It was rough!

Me too...I don't have a problem with pregnant women in bikinis, I think it's cute! But of the options above, I like #1 or #2.

  • #3!!!!!!

I am going to rock out a bikini and I don't care if I gross anyone out.

  • I love option #1, where is it from? BIL just bought a house with an inground pool, I plan on being the beached whale accessory for the summer but I can't find a bathing suit that I like.

  • I am kind of excited that my bikini will be the only thing I can still wear that is not maternity come summer :) so I will be sporting my bikini all summer that is if my boobs will still fit LOL

We have a pool so we spend all summer with the kids around the pool deck and cooking dinners on the BBQ grill or pizza oven so its just the family and friends that will have to deal with my belly hanging out :)

  • All the suits pictured can be found here.

Thanks ladies....I do already have one suit like amyjoy18 posted above and plan on wearing that, but with week long trips to the beach planned for the summer I like to have at least two options (especially if the one doesn't fit)...nothing worse than putting on a wet swimsuit.  Who knows, maybe even closer to when it actually has to be worn I will pull out a bikini and see if it looks okay.  However, just to be safe I think that I will go with option number 1 so that I know I have at least one suit.

  • Whatever you choose, just make sure the top is well lined. I bought a maternity suit from Old Navy last year & I only wore it twice because you could always see my nipples in it- plus it had no support & I'm a DD. I loved the suit I bought at Motherhood Maternity- it had as much support as a bra & had molded cups that provided great coverage. I love Old Navy maternity clothes but hate their bathing suits.

  • Option 1 is the cutest out of those. I, however, will totally be rockin' the bikini as well!

  • I just bought the pink version of #1, hehe!  Thanks for sharing!
  • Definitely option 1.  I just found this website as I need to find a suit soon.  They're a little on the pricey side but have several cute options.  https://www.tummystyle.com/
