Homemade purees and a road trip

We're going on a 3- hour road trip for the weekend and staying in a hotel.  Right now, most of our baby food is homemade pureed stuff in frozen cubes.

While we can bring a cooler, the cubes won't stay frozen.  Is it okay if they defrost and stay cool/refrigerated for the weekend?

I don't want to give him a mess of jarred foods that we haven't yet tried.

  • Yes, since it's just vegetables/fruit. I was in the exact same spot and ended up buying a bunch of Ella's Kitchen brand food for the trip. Way easier and most are made of whatever fruit/veg is in the name and "a splash" (says the website) of lemon juice. Although I tried a couple during the week before we left, LO never had a problem with them.

  • They should be fine but I agree with pp to try the organic pouches. Ella's Kitchen, Plum, and Happy Bellies are all really good brands, easy to use, and are purely organic. I make dd's food when we are home but when we're out and about, i use the pouches.
