Babies: 6 - 9 Months

F/U "To the Pedi we go.."

Ugh.  I was right, he has a pretty bad ear infection in his left ear.  Poor guy, now I feel like a jerk for not taking him in sooner.  Pedi put him on antibiotics so hopefully that will kick this ear infections butt right out the door!

This kid always keeps me guessing.... #1 question they always ask "well has his sleep been disrupted?"  NO!  The kid sleeps 10-12hrs a night no matter what.  Even through RSV&Pneumonia his sleep wasn't disrupted.

I think my kid likes to break the rules... no idea where he gets that from!

  • Poor guy, I hope he feels better soon.  As for the sleeping, sounds just like my DD.  Nothing gets in the way of her sleep.  She had a nasty Rotavirus when she was 16 months old and she would wake up, puke and then lay back down and go to sleep!  I had to constantly check to make sure she wasn't sleeping in barf.  My DS, on the other hand, his sleep is disturbed by everything little thing....

  • I was thinking about you!

Glad he could at least get some meds. Ear infections scare the crap outta me. Eli hasn't had one yet (knock on wood) but I know it is just so hard to tell if that is what it is which freaks me out.

  • Aw Sad. Hopefully he gets better fast. The same thing happened to my oldest. I didn't know she had a double ear infection until I took her to get a cough checked out. She showed no signs.

  • Thanks ladies!

My MIL just called to let me know "this is only the beginning of things, as DH had tubes as a kid".  Ugh, whatever, its only the FIRST ear infection ever.  I'm not going to jump the gun on this!!!

DD is like this - I am not sure I will ever know if she is sick.  To my knowledge and with well visits, she has not been.  I feel like I take her temp all of the time (even though I know that is not the only sign).

  • Aw I hope he feels better soon.  DD had an ear infection at 3 months and call me crazy but I was actually glad that that's what they found - that way you start the meds and they feel better instead of having to guess what is wrong!

    Lots of snuggles today :)

  • Oh no! Poor DS! Well, you caught it and he'll be back to 100% in no time. At least he can rest, right?
