NBR: (Skin Issue) What could this be?

I am freaking out. I had Micro-derm done on my face about a month ago. Shortly after that I noticed a small red patch of dry skin on my face. I thought that it was caused from the Micro-derm. Well it hasn't gotten better and now is actually worse and getting bigger, and is starting to itch. I can't get into my doctor until later in the week. I could go to Urgent Care, or pay out of pocket to see a derm. I think I want to get some OTC cream. Anyone have any guesses/insight as to what this could be, how to treat it, I put some A&D on it right now.

  • Sounds like eczema, but it would be odd to get that if you've never had it, I would think.

But it also can't hurt to try a little hydrocortisone cream on it. That's what the pedi recommended for DD. Also Gentle Naturals lotion (in the baby aisle at your drug store) worked wonders for her.

  • Have you had Micro-Derm before? I am wondering if you could be allergic to it... I use this Benadryl Gel on all of my itchy spots (we have mosquitos) and it works amazing. Especially since I am allergic to the little bugs. I would definitely ask your doctor as soon as you could.

  • Thank you! I have never had eczema, but I will try the hydrocortisone cream. I am just hoping it isn't fungal.

I have done it before and didn't have a reaction. The benadryl cream sounds good too. Thank you!

Totally not a doctor but some fungals like ringworm have a distinct shape to them.  You may be able to google.

  • I would def go to the doctors. It could be fungal.
  • Where is it?  I have a rosacia related rash on my face the the Derm has me treating.  It's related to BF and being on Jolivette.
