Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Moms of big babies and/or active sleepers

Eli is a big boy. And he moves a lot in his sleep. We foolishly thought we were saving money and space when we bought the travel sized pack n'play before he was born for him to sleep in when we travel. Except baby boy is too big for it already. If you have a big baby or one that rolls a lot, what do they sleep in when you travel? Is the regular pack n play big enough or is there something better/bigger but still easy to travel with?

I want to make sure whatever we get this time will last us longer than the first did.

Kate is very active in her sleep and we got the smaller PnP for the ILs house.  I have a feeling we are going to have issues when we visit next week.

We have a full size PnP at our house and I think even that would be too small for Kate to sleep in since she moves around so much.

  • The regular size pack n play is plenty big enough for Oliver & you know he's a big ol' boy!

  • The regular PNP is big enough for our Gigantor baby. The size when travelling is slightly annoying though.

That's what I am worried about. He rolls and gets stuck on the sides and it wakes him up every 30 minutes. It was a nightmare at my parents house this weekend.

  • Bridget moves a lot in her sleep, but we put her in the regula PnP when we travel.  Somehow she manages to still thrash and roll around without waking herself up, even in the smaller space.  She actually slept in it all last week while we were staying at the IL's while our floors got refinished, and had no problems.

  • Charlie is both of those things, and even though we haven't travelled, I'm seriously considering the kidco peapod for our summer cottage trips.

Oh that looks interesting. I shall check it out.

Looks like the regular sized PNP should work. I am going to have to go out and look at every single one til I find one that looks big enough.

  • We use the regular sized PnP.  DS1 slept in that thing at my IL's house until he was almost 2.

... I think I'm in love with this product. And you for posting it.
  • When she was younger and not as strong, we used the RNP. Now, she can get herself out of it so we use the normal sized PNP. She's getting long for sure, but it works for now. She's 20+lbs and not sure how long she is.

Don't act like you didn't already love me.

But I can't take all the credit. Other bumpies have posted it before - that's how I discovered it. But I'm so intrigued by it, I wanted to share.

  • My sister has a peapod for my niece (1.5) and is a big fan since (a) my niece can't climb out of it like the pack n play (she can zip her in; or if she doesn't and she does climb out, she doesn't take a tumble from a few feet up like the pack n play) and (b) its much more portable than the pack n play. They also make two sizes so you may want to get the bigger one (peapod plus) for maximum space.

  • C moves around a LOT in his sleep. Although we havent traveled with the PnP since he was five weeks old, it is a little bigger than his crib so it will be what we use when we travel this summer/fall.
