My husband and I are both in the education field and are on spring break. Do you think it's too early to finish putting all of our gear and nursery together this week?
Specifically wondering about bedding... are you ladies done?
I don't think it's too early to get things in order. I would wait a few more weeks on the bedding though.
Our nursery is about 1/2 way completed. We've painted, set up the crib & dresser. All the baby's clothing and gear is organized and put away. But we are still waiting on a few more pieces of furniture that we will get in the next couple of weeks.
I hope to be completely done by May 1st (35 weeks), but realistically it will likely be the 15th. (37 weeks).
We just ordered a rug and glider this weekend, and they are scheduled to come in 6-8 weeks. My mom is making our curtains and crib skirt, and we still have to order our mattress. I feel like we are kind of behind, but as soon as the mattress arrives, we will at least have a place to put a baby. If he's early or if the glider or rug is delayed, I won't worry too much.
I definitely don't think it's too early for you to be putting stuff together.

We've had our furniture put together with bedding on it since about 24 weeks. I will be stripping and washing it in the next month. This week I'll be washing most of the clothes (though will leave some with tags still on them, just in case). I don't think it's ever too early. Do it now while you have time/energy.
We have all of the furniture in place, her closet and drawers organized... However, we still have curtains, art and other accessories to hang and of course her bedding.
I'm just tired of looking at the boxes full of "gear". So, I was thinking about having my husband put those things together and for like the stroller and carseat put them in the car/trunk. But, then I think I might be jumping the gun. However, I don't know how much of this I'll really want to do those last few weeks...
I'm happy to say ours is complete! Pics coming soon!
I wanted to get it done so that was one less thing I had to worry about. Completing it made me feel so much more prepared and ready. I know that sounds silly considering she won't even use it that much the first few months.
The nursery is finished with the exception of the lighting and things on the walls. We have the bedding in place although I will probably wash it again and take out the bumper before we put her in there (she will sleep in a bassinet for awhile). I plan to start washing clothes, towels, etc in a few more weeks.
we are done with everything in her room as of last Saturday.
This. I've also washed all her clothes and linens (we don't plan on putting her in her crib for the first couple of months anyway so we'll just wash them again before making the transition). I'm happy it's all over because my energy is REALLY low the last couple of days and if it's going to get lower I won't be able to do the job as well as I'd like.

Our nursery is all finished. Today I actually washed the bedding and clothes I have. I haven't had my shower yet, and I figured it would be a good idea to wash what I had already so I don't have to do it later. I'm really glad I got it out of the way. It can be really time consuming setting up, doing laundry, and getting everything organized all at once. Spreading it out makes it less exhausting. At least it has in my case.

We're still waiting on the furniture to arrive. I also haven't had a shower yet...they're coming up in the next couple weeks. Once both of those things happen, then we can be done!
I plan to have everything ready by the time i am 36 weeks. I don't know when i will put the crib bedding on. Probably then too but then wash it again before we actually put the baby in it. It will be more to prep DD for the arrival. If i put the bedding on the basinet i will cover it with a blanket so the cats don't get in it.

My husband still has to build the closet shelving system. In the last month we got new windows in the bedroom, so we just redid all of the trim and bought new doors. The crib is set up and we have the bedding. Nothing has been washed yet and we haven't gotten the mattress yet. I have an old dresser that a few generations of my family have used that we have to replace the sliding track on and we are kind of curious what is underneath all of the layers of paint, so we (and by we I mean DH and my brother) are going to strip that and see what we uncover. Still need to get our rocking chair and an overhead light. Or better lamps.
I hope to get the nursery done done by Memorial Day.
I'm due on June 13th and I'd like to have the room complete by mid-May. Everything is already set to go with the exception of picking up a glider, a rug, and hanging up the wall art that we've bought.
We're going to be using the PNP's bassinet feature for the baby to sleep in at first while she's waking to eat so often throughout the night. It won't take but a few minutes to set that up in our bedroom.
I did start washing the newborn and size 0-3 month clothing this weekend.

I wanted to be done by now! I just need to finish the rag rug, which shouldn't be more than 2 hours time and then wash all of the cloths. I'm waiting until my next shower at the end of April.
I also work in a school and another job. Due to my excitement and because I knew I had the time - I painted our nursery and put together most things during my winter break - Our Spring Break is only this next Friday through Monday. I then finished the nursery two weekends ago.
We just STARTED getting the baby's room together this past weekend - we finally cleared all the crap out, and then DH began painting yesterday - 2 coats of primer.
The first coat of wall paint will go on this weekend (Friday most likely), and then hopefully painting will be totally complete by the following weekend.
After that we'll put together the crib and I'll start decorating the room/washing the bedding, etc.
But realistically I think we'll be completely done by Memorial Day weekend.
At the rate we are going, never! We finally have the room completely cleared out and the floor refinished (done last week). Furniture is being delivered next Monday and we are painting the following Saturday at which point I'll be 35+ weeks. After that, MH has to rebuild the closet - he is a procrastinator so who knows how long that will take. We still need to find an area rug, buy blinds and curtains and possibly a chair. Hopefully we'll be done by the time the baby arrives but I wouldn't be surprised if we're not.

Go for it! With my first the nursery was done by the time I hit third tri and I loved it, because it meant everything was finished before I started feeling huge and ungainly and uncomfortable.
We're not even close to finished this time. We have to paint her closet, repaint her bookcase, install a ceiling fan and hang some art. Actually, now that I've typed it out, it's not as bad as I thought it would be ...
We are moving into our new house on May 7th (hopefully), so I plan on working double time to have the nursery completed by the middle of May (due June 3rd). I've already had 3 people volunteer to help me get the nursery together, so that should be a lot of help.
We just had our last shower so we have most all the big items we were needing to really finish everything. The last thing is the changing table, which my husband in actually building, as soon as it is done and in the room everything will be done. I would guess that would be about 35 wks I hope sooner but we'll see!
